Idyllwild Art Alliance’s

Here and Now - Judged Art Show

Because the theme of this art show was “Here and Now” I decided to paint something ephemeral that doesn’t last for very long. I considered painting clouds or fire, but eventually decided on painting the intricate pattern of ripples on the water.

The idea of ripples is also a reminder that the small actions we take in the present can have a lasting impact, creating a much bigger effect than we ever would have thought possible. The small droplet in the ‘Here and Now’ can effect the water across the entire pond.

I am honored to have been awarded third place in the contest!
