Summer Kickoff
This is my first art event with the Idyllwild Art Alliance! This group hosts lots of wonderful exhibitions and contests throughout the year. To learn more about the Idyllwild Art Alliance, click the button below.
This event marks the beginning of Idyllwild’s busy season. I was one of the artists who donated artwork to raise proceeds so the Art Alliance had funds to run their events for the year.
I entered my oil painting, “Tahquitz in Golden Hour” into the contest. Tahquitz Rock is one of the biggest landmarks in Idyllwild, and I wanted to capture its beauty in this painting. Depending on the lighting, the rock can look vastly different. In the moment I wanted to remember in this painting, sunset was just beginning and the rock was cast in a beautiful yellow glow.
